Benton Barton has been hard at work for the past year as Program Chair for ALFA International’s upcoming International Client Seminar starting March 1, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The program’s theme is, “Leaving It Better Than You Found It: How We Can Lead, Inspire and Improve in Business and Law.” Discussing his ideas for the seminar, Benton noted:

Benton J. Barton

“After months of brainstorming, which included listening to our clients tell us what they wanted, it became clear to us that we really needed to zoom out from the granular legal updates available at any other conference, and instead explore ‘big picture’ ideas and happy outcomes from our shared legal and business experiences. To be honest, general counsel can go anywhere and see narrow topics discussed. Here, we are offering them optimistic and compelling presentations – which are thematically connected – inspiring them on things like innovation, leadership, resilience, and doing the right thing.”

The panels reflect an increased focus on diversity and international involvement, and the topics draw on the heroic words and deeds from twentieth century icons such as King, Churchill, Ali, Einstein, Mandela, and Rosa Parks. Over 270 legal officers, company executives, and outside counsel will participate in this signature event at the beautiful Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Hall & Evans is a founding member of ALFA, a worldwide network of over 150 independent law firms, and the first network of its kind. Benton has served on ALFA’s Board of Directors since 2015.  Please see www.alfainternational.com.
