Hall & Evans’ attorneys Ryan Winter and Bryan Gogarty obtained a complete defense verdict in Arapahoe County District Court, after a four-day jury trial.  The case arose out of an alleged slip-and-fall incident.  Plaintiff asserted a claim pursuant to the Colorado Premises Liability Act and alleged he fell on ice as he attempted to descend the steps to his apartment.  Ryan and Bryan represented two, national companies that own and manage large, multi-family properties.  Plaintiff’s medical bills were $150,000, and at trial, Plaintiff asked the jury to award him $494,000 in damages.  The jury agreed with the defenses put forth by Hall & Evans, and determined that Plaintiff had not met his burden in proving that our clients failed to take reasonable measures to mitigate ice on the steps, and further, that Plaintiff had failed to establish that his injuries were caused by the fall.
