Maricela Rosa Deveney

Maricela Rosa Deveney’s practice includes transportation, products liability, and premises liability.  Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Ms. Deveney practiced in Houston and San Antonio, Texas with a focus on civil matters.   

Ms. Deveney graduated magna cum laude from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and received a Bachelor of Science from Boise State University.  While in law school, Ms. Deveney interned with the Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, Houston Volunteer Lawyers, and a small civil litigation firm.  She also was the recipient of multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards.

Madisyn Schaus joined Hall & Evans, LLC as an Associate in 2025. Ms. Schaus’ practice centers on premises liability, products liability, professional liability, and workers’ compensation.

Ms. Schaus earned her JD from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada.  While in law school, she was a Legal Intern and a Legal Extern with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.

Grace A. Seger

Associate

Grace Seger defends clients in Kansas and Missouri in matters involving premises liability, transportation, construction defects, and products liability. Before joining Hall & Evans in 2025, Grace practiced at a civil litigation firm in Overland Park, Kansas. She also previously represented plaintiffs in personal injury matters, giving her a balanced perspective on both sides of litigation.

In addition to her practice, Grace is heavily involved in legal education. She currently serves as the Head Coach of the University of Kansas Undergraduate Mock Trial team, mentoring more than 50 students in trial advocacy. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, where she assists in coaching the law school’s competitive mock trial team.

Grace earned her J.D., with Pro Bono Distinction, from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2022. During law school, she was actively involved in Mock Trial, Moot Court, Traffic Court, and the Project for Innocence.

Jeff Soffer

Senior Associate

Jeff’s practice focuses on premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, employment, hospitality & retail, professional liability, and complex commercial litigation. Representative clients include hospital systems, nursing facilities, trucking companies, gig-economy platforms, retail establishments, and hospitality businesses.

Jeff utilizes his experience in litigation, business strategy, and risk assessment to advocate for clients in high-stakes conflicts, develop innovative legal arguments, and mitigate risk through proactive compliance and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Hall & Evans in 2025, Jeff worked for two law firms in Houston, Texas. He received his JD from the University of Texas School of Law, his MBA from New York University, and his BA from Northwestern University. He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife and three fun-loving children.

April Moore is a trial attorney with over eighteen years of experience in the areas of personal injury, product liability, construction and design, insurance coverage, and employment law. Her experience includes all phases of civil litigation from pre-litigated matters to trials, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals in state and federal courts.

Ms. Moore enjoys the complexities of litigation, and she strives to provide high-quality, efficient representation.  She has significant experience with high exposure, tort and commercial lawsuits, including cases involving allegations of wrongful death, brain injury, and incapacitating traumatic injuries. As lead counsel, Ms. Moore has achieved defense verdicts, prevailed on appeals, and obtained summary judgments for her clients on several occasions.
