Tad J. Quinn

Tad Quinn represents individuals and business in Montana with matters involving product liability, transportation, premises liability, insurance defense, professional liability, and employment law.

Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Quinn was a JAG attorney with the United States Navy JAG Corps in Washington, DC. With five years of experience in federal court, Mr. Quinn has developed a foundation in complex trial practice and high-stakes courtroom advocacy. He successfully managed all phases of federal litigation, from navigating intricate procedural motions to delivering compelling arguments before the court.

While attending the University of California, Davis School of Law, Mr. Quinn was a government affairs graduate intern with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District where he advocated for renewable energy. Mr. Quinn graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University with a bachelor’s in political science. Before his legal career, Mr. Quinn served in the United States Army Special Operations Command as a Flight Engineer.

Kimberly A. Huson

Senior Associate

Kimberly A. Huson is a defense litigator concentrating her practice in healthcare and medical malpractice, premises liability, sports and recreation law, and transportation matters. She represents insurers, corporations, universities, and individuals in complex, high-stakes litigation involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.

Ms. Huson has extensive experience defending healthcare providers across a wide range of claims, including medical and dental malpractice, cosmetic procedures, and correctional medicine. She is skilled in all phases of litigation—from strategic discovery and dispositive motion practice through mediation, trial, and appeal.

Before joining Hall & Evans, Ms. Huson developed a diverse civil litigation background at both a large national firm and boutique firms in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in political science and went on to earn her J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

While in law school, Ms. Huson focused her studies on sports and business law and remained actively engaged in the sports community. She began her legal career as a paralegal in Nashville and Phoenix, where she built a foundation in probate and eminent domain litigation.

Rus Miller is a seasoned trial attorney with over 15 years of courtroom experience and is adept at presenting defense cases as a tried-and-true litigator. Mr. Miller’s practice is focused on medical malpractice, transportation, and premises liability.

Before joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Miller served as an in-house trial attorney with a large national insurance company and practiced at insurance defense and plaintiff firms in Denver, CO. His unique perspective from all sides of an insurance claim enhances the strategic development and presentation of cases. Mr. Miller has been lead counsel on over 40 trials in Colorado and is committed to delivering effective legal representation while continuously refining trial techniques.

Timothy J. Shaffer

Associate

Timothy Shaffer’s practice includes transportation, premises liability, and insurance defense.  Mr. Shaffer represents clients in state and federal courts across Montana, and he is also licensed in Minnesota. 

Mr. Shaffer began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin Siefken in Minnesota’s 3rd Judicial District.  Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Shaffer practiced at civil litigation firms in Northwestern Montana.  Mr. Shaffer earned his JD from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and received his bachelor’s in legal studies from the University of Wisconsin at Superior. During law school, he interned with the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor and was a legal intern with the Builders Association of Minnesota.  He also served as Student Director for the law school’s Employment Discrimination Clinic.
