Charles Eugene Deskins II

Associate

Charles Deskins’ practice focuses on insurance defense, bankruptcy, business law contract formations, trademark registration and defense, and basic tort claims. He is also experienced in regulatory gaming matters, family law, and estate planning.

Mr. Deskins received his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law in 2015. He went on to earn his LLM from The William S. Boyd School of Law in 2018, becoming the first and currently only African American Male to receive a gaming policy & regulation LLM in the world. Mr. Deskins previously served as a Regulatory Compliance Manager and Associate General Counsel for a gaming company in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2022, he was honored with the National Bar Association’s “Top 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” award.

Adam R. Knecht

Member

Adam Knecht concentrates his practice on both transactional and business/civil litigation. Mr. Knecht’s civil work encompasses all aspects of civil trial work, including business litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, non-competition litigation, transportation law, premises liability, and insurance defense. His civil practice includes defending catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, defending healthcare professions against medical malpractice and nursing home lawsuits, workers’ compensation defense, defense of civil rights claims, and defending the manufacturers of various products including building products and medical products. Mr. Knecht’s transactional practice involves mergers and acquisitions, general business transactions, real estate law, and securities law.

Mr. Knecht represents clients in a wide variety of litigation and appellate matters in Federal and State courts in Nevada and Utah. He has successfully defended and prosecuted cases through trial, serving as lead trial counsel in more than 20 cases generally involving complex commercial, business, premises liability, personal injury, and real estate issues. Mr. Knecht has also been recognized by Mountain States Super Lawyers® for his business litigation law practice.

Prior to law practice, Mr. Knecht had many years of business management experience in both the technology and construction industries. He also advised and provided management consulting services for various mid to large companies while working for global consulting firms Accenture and Bridge Strategy Group. Subsequent to that, Mr. Knecht was the general manager of a construction and real estate development company.

Svetlana V. Scherr

Associate

Svetlana Scherr defends employers and insurers in a variety of legal matters stemming from workers’ compensation claims.  Ms. Scherr is also experienced with trusts and estates, employment agreements, tax compliance, business valuation, accounting, financial reporting, and auditing.

Before her legal career, Ms. Scherr spent a decade in the accounting and tax arenas.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and is Accredited in Business Valuations.

Amanda G. Hunter

Amanda Hunter is a civil litigator with a practice focused on business disputes, employment discrimination, premises liability, insurance defense, and transportation.  Ms. Hunter defends individuals, companies, and insurers in state and federal courts throughout Montana and Wyoming

Ms. Hunter graduated summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law and received CALI Excellence of the Future Awards for Legal Research & Writing and Law & Religion.  While in law school, she served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Maryann Moreno at the Spokane Superior Court, was a student Intern at Gonzaga’s Elder Clinic, and a law clerk at a civil defense firm.  She also competed on Gonzaga’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) moot court team and served as an Articles Editor for the Gonzaga Journal of International Law.

W. Andrew Figel

Counsel

Andrew Figel is an experienced attorney with more than two decades of litigation and transactional experience.  Mr. Figel’s litigation practice is focused on the areas of construction and design throughout Colorado and Wyoming.  He has successfully defended contractors, architects, engineers, and other construction professionals in complex construction defect matters and contract disputes. Additionally, he has assisted contractors and suppliers with filing mechanic’s liens and pursuing lien foreclosure and payment bond actions.

Mr. Figel also has extensive experience in personal injury defense, including defending business owners, property managers, and contractors in premises liability actions.

On the transactional side of his practice, Mr. Figel assists with commercial leases, confidentiality agreements, employment and consulting agreements, organizational documents, and shareholder and ownership agreements for corporations and limited liability companies.

Before private practice, Mr. Figel served as subrogation counsel for a national insurance carrier.
