Lance G. Eberhart and Jill M. Gerdrum presented at the 2025 ALFA International Transportation Practice Group Seminar in Newport Coast, CA. Last week, defense counsel, excess insurers, opposing counsel, brokers, motor carriers, and experts in the transportation industry gathered for the three-day seminar. The seminar’s theme, “The ALFAI Effect, ” focused on the impact of industry collaboration to effectuate change and establish best practices.
Lance serves as ALFAI’s Transportation Practice Group Vice-Chair and was a moderator for the “State of the Union” panel, offering perspectives related to case evaluations in the nuclear world and reporting to excess.
Jill’s panel, “Is Your Agreement Bullet Proof?” discussed the recent emergence of naming “upstream” defendants in serious accident claims and best practices for insulating entities such as CMV leasors and freight brokers from both accident and cargo-related litigation.
Brooke A. Churchman from our Denver, CO office and Trevor Uffelman from our Missoula, MT office were also in attendance. Over 100 transportation industry clients and attorneys from 40 states gathered at the beautiful Resort at Pelican Hill.
