David M. Sexton

Member

David Sexton’s practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation and business transactions. His litigation experience includes premises liability, personal injury, and insurance defense, frequently defending retailers and insurance companies. On the business side, Mr. Sexton has experience handling antitrust matters, contracts, leases, franchises, and common-interest community law. He also has experience helping clients with their estate planning needs.

Mr. Sexton graduated cum laude from J. Reuben Clark Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. While attending law school, Mr. Sexton interned with the Apache County Attorney’s Office in Arizona, was a research assistant and teaching assistant, and served as Editor in Chief for the Journal of Public Law.

Michael N. DiCanio

Member

Michael DiCanio has over fifteen years of complex litigation experience with an emphasis on construction liability. Mr. DiCanio represents construction professionals, architects, and engineers in construction defect and professional liability disputes. Mr. DiCanio’s practice also involves representing clients in insurance disputes under a wide range of insurance policies, including directors and officers professional liability, first-party property, business interruption, commercial general liability, media liability, and builders risk.

Previously, Mr. DiCanio managed the defense of high-stakes litigation as in-house litigation counsel for a national home builder and practiced at global law firms in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Ringel’s practice focuses on trial and appellate litigation. His practice includes litigation of claims involving civil rights, constitutional law, employment discrimination, land use, insurance bad faith, ERISA, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, health care, premises liability, and other civil and commercial litigation. Mr. Ringel regularly litigates claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, 42 U.S.C.§ 1983, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, the Equal Pay Act, RFRA, RLUIPA, and other federal and Colorado statues. Robert M. Ferm

Mr. Ferm’s practice concentrates on regulatory and corporate transactional matters on behalf of the insurance industry, and regulated industries and professions.  He is a senior member of Hall & Evans’ Regulatory and Public Policy Practice Group, which represents a wide range of entities from national trade associations to individual companies.  His accomplishments include participation in the drafting and passage of Colorado tort reform, workers’ compensation reform, regulatory re-engineering of the business of insurance and health care policy reform.

Ms. Montague focuses on insurer licensing, receivership and insolvency, insurance bad faith litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and professional liability cases.
