Katherine (Kate) Hoffman has extensive civil litigation experience, and she focuses her practice on civil rights violations, constitutional law claims, and labor and employment litigation.  Her practice includes defending claims brought against public entities alleging civil rights violations and claims brought against public and private employers for workplace allegations, including discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.  She has experience with all stages of litigation, from initial investigations through trial and appeal.  She has litigated cases in state trial and appellate courts as well as before local, state, and federal administrative agencies.

Kate has a long history of public service at the state and local level.  Before relocating to Colorado and joining Hall & Evans, she worked as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Cambridge in Massachusetts, where she counselled the City regarding a range of civil, employment, and municipal matters in addition to carrying a litigation caseload.  In addition, she worked as a Staff Attorney for the Boston Police Department advising the Boston Police Commissioner and served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, where she tried approximately ninety cases to verdict.
